Following the AMCOM contract award to Composite Technology, Inc. (CTI) for Apache main rotor blades' repairs, CTI added a man of experience and ethics, Terrance Reininger, to its management team to serve as director of military programs.
In 1971, Terry earned his BS degree in Industrial Technology from Texas A&M University and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Transportation Corps.
After completing flight school and the Aircraft Maintenance Officer's Course, he was assigned as a maintenance officer in several aviation units. His aviation experience played an important role in his selection as a North Atlantic Treaty Organization exchange officer with the Canadian Armed Forces. Upon his return to the U.S. Army, he was assigned to the Army Plant Representative Office Boeing-Vertol Company as an Acceptance Test Pilot. After that tour, Terry earned his Masters of Engineering from Texas A&M.
Following attendance at the Armed Forces Staff College, he was assigned to the Army Aviation Engineering Activity located at Edwards Air Force base. As a flight test engineer, he was involved in testing numerous rotary wing and fixed wing aircraft.
In 1987, he was assigned to the Army Plant Representative Office at Bell Helicopter Textron. During his tenure, he served as the Chief of the Flight Test Division and Special Assistant to the Commander.
In 1991, he was given the enviable task of managing the world's largest fleet of helicopters, the UH-1 "Huey". In 1992, he was selected as the Product manager for the T8-engine, an advanced gas turbine engine.
Terry retired as Lieutenant Colonel after nearly 25 years of a successful aviation career. In 1996, he went to work for DynCorp as a Logistics Manager. In 1998, he was appointed to the position of Director of Aviation Engineering Operations DynCorp Technical services.
Terry joined CTI in May. His primary duties consist of managing military programs. "The need for a director of military programs arose," says Michael Topa, President, "when the Apache contract was awarded to us. The depth of the contract requires the attention of a full time individual. Terry matches the profile CTI was looking for. His experience and successful career in the aviation and military arena will strengthen our organization."
