| Composite Technology Limited Adds S-76 and S-61 Capabilities to its Repair List under Sikorsky License
Composite Technology Limited (CTL) has been licensed in September by Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation to provide S-76 and S-61 rotor blade repairs in Europe.
Based on the large fleet of S-76 and S-61 in Europe, performance of Composite Technology, Inc (CTI) in the U.S. and experience of CTL with S-76 and S-61 repairs under JAR-145 approval, Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation agreed to license CTL to better support European customers. Tooling, equipment and spare parts to support S-76 and S-61 rotor blade repairs are already on site and training has been completed.
Roger Taylor, general manager, says, "We have all the ingredients to succeed. From the start, we have been very committed and invested over $250K in tooling, training and parts to deliver quality and short turn times to helicopter operators. These are not new products to CTL as we have offered limited support of the S-76 and S-61 rotor blades for ten years."
Established in 1991, CTL repairs rotor blades under Agusta, Bell Helicopter Textron, Kazan Helicopters, MD Helicopters, Schweizer and Sikorsky licensing at its Thruxton, England facility. Since that time, CTL has undergone steady expansion and now caters for a client list of over 200 operators in 28 countries ranging from Greenland to the African. CTL is part of the CTI rotor blade worldwide network, which operates now in six countries: United States, Canada, Singapore, Australia, Brazil and England.
